The key to a healthy diet plan is to start eating all natural whole foods. The world has become more overweight with each passing decade. Obesity is at an all time high and it is not just affecting adults. Our children, our future are overweight and it puts them at a greater risk for obesity related diseases and health problems.
Our bodies are not used to digesting processed foods that are chalk-full of preservatives and chemicals. Studies are proving that these preservatives and chemicals are in direct correlation with certain cancers and food allergies. A healthy diet plan should eliminate or limit the consumption of these chemicals and preservatives.
A fast-paced lifestyle emphasizes the important of the convenience prepackaged foods. So how do we eliminate them from our lifestyle? When shopping, you should shop the perimeters of the grocery store. The perimeters usually include the meat, dairy, and the produce sections. These are foods that should be part of our diet. Look for foods that are organic, pesticide free, and hormone free. Read the labels on your food. If it contains words that you can not pronounce; beware.
You should also try planning your meals. On your days off, try to prepare certain foods ahead of time that can be frozen and reheated. I like to freeze my lunches on the weekend for convenient, easily portable, and nutritious meals that I can just grab and go. I make my own frozen dinners that do not contain any unnatural preservatives.
This process provides convenient solutions without unnecessary and unwanted preservatives. These preservatives and chemicals have potential dangerous side effects.
This may be difficult to adjust, but a healthy diet plan that implements these practices will help sustain a sound nutrition plan that will eliminate certain health risks for disease. Our bodies were not designed to digest these chemicals. Eating healthy whole grains, lean meat, and fresh fruits and vegetables are fundamental components of a healthy diet plan. By eliminating or limiting preservatives, refined sugars and foods, and processed prepackaged foods, we will potentially lower our risk of certain cancers and maintain a normal weight.
