The Fat Smash Diet Plan to Lose Weight - Healthy Diet Plan

A new diet by Ian K Smith, MD found its way to the VH1 series "Celebrity Fit Club". The popularity of the diet has driven his book sales for, "The Fat Smash Diet" and created a stir across the nation. There is a promise of results in only nine days. The Fat Smash Diet plan is another phase diet, which aims at adjusting your eating habits.

The entire diet is a 90-day program that helps you on a healthy path of eating. There are four phases in the fat smash diet. The first, cleansing phase restricts the calorie intake and limits food choices.

Phase I cleans the body of toxins with a calorie and food restricted menu for nine days. This rapid detox phase allows all the veggies you can eat to flush out years of nasty build from your system. Additional foods in Phase I are brown rice, yogurt, skim milk, beans or tofu and all the herbal tea you want. Phase I of the diet requires four to five mini meals a day, so prepare to chew all day long. Phase I of the Fat smash diet lasts only nine days. Aerobics is part of every phase.

Phase II of the Fat Smash Diet increases the types of foods you can eat, but allows only limited servings. Part of the psychology of this phase is interesting. After the nine day fast, this three-week restricted calorie and food intake phase actually looks like a feast. The second phase of the fat smash diet introduces small amounts of lean protein into the diet and one egg a day. Cereal such as plain cornflakes and one ounce of cheese per day makes it's way back to your daily fare. For those caffeine freaks, you get rid of that headache you had those full nine days, a cup of coffee and diet pop becomes part of your menu.

Phase III of the Fat Smash diet plan lasts four weeks. Again, you feel rewarded when you get to add additional foods back into your diet. The diet increases some of the foods already allowed. Eggs go from one a day to two. Cheese increases by less than an ounce and, every thing is just a little bit more when it comes to serving size. One new addition to the Fat Smash diet on this phase is pasta and bread. Another exciting feature of Phase III is the introduction of one desert a day. You don't get to run out and buy a box of Twinkies, there's a list of specific allowed desserts from which to choose.

Phase IV and the last phase of the diet adds weight training and emphasizes portion control. Potatoes, beer, wine and even a little pizza become part of the Fat Smash diet in this phase. You still maintain four to five meals a day and focus not missing any meals.
