Some online diet plans don't really match up with reality. Who really wants to count calories or eat nothing but celery and carrots all day long?

In real life, most people eat what they want to eat. They go to restaurants; they are invited to parties; or they are tempted with their favorite foods.

A good diet plan is one that will stand up to life's normal occurrences. It will be flexible enough to be adaptable to any situation and will allow for mishaps or indulgences.

With all the choices available, you don't have to go hungry. Nor should you. In order to lose weight, you have to eat enough food for your body to be satisfied. Not eating enough could be hindering your weight loss efforts.

In addition, a good diet plan will take care of your cravings. You may find that when you are eating properly, your desire for sweets, salty foods or whatever may disappear. This is because your body has what it needs and isn't trying to get you to eat what it is lacking.

A Good Plan Will Be Adaptable For Any Situation

While controlling what you put in your mouth is ideal, there are some times that you will not be able to buy the things that you should be eating. That's real life.

For those times, a diet plan should be adaptable. When at a restaurant, you can find the good things on the menu and only eat enough so that you can be satisfied.

At a party, eat a reasonable amount of food or just eat before you go. Going to your parents' house for dinner? Stick with a reasonable portion.

And guess what? If you are eating healthily and your body is used to good food, you can have a reasonable indulgence once or twice a week (not five brownies though). Allow yourself a treat and you may find that plate of brownies is easier to resist.
