After all it wasn't the McDonald's you ate every other day for an entire year, it was the fact that you actually continued to do it without regard for your weight. The next order of business is to set goals. I know you want to lose weight, but how much? Tell yourself a specific amount and then break it down into smaller goals that are reachable. Just by taking measurable steps you can reach the ultimate goal quicker. In fact, celebrate every time you reach one of them. This will motivate you more, especially if you write each one down and check them off when they're completed.

The most important thing to do is take action. When you can think ahead and know what needs to be done you will have an easier time completing it. Your plan will be thought out better and your goals will be associated with actions. The end result is you succeed in several small areas to reach the biggest goal of all.

Oh, and quit making excuses. These are the things you come up with to skip steps. If you start skipping steps then you will wind up missing your goals. So eliminate all your excuses, because in the end there are no excuses.

You also have to believe that this is all possible. If you're already thinking negative in the beginning then you are going to be disappointed at the finish line. Actually, you probably won't ever reach the finish line. Instead you will run back to the starting point.

Don't be a procrastinator either. When you wait and continue to wait you will start making up excuses and never get started. The sooner you begin the faster you will feel about yourself. It's true that losing weight is not easy and will take time, but if you stay on course it's going to be easier.

Each plan isn't right for everyone, so choose the best option for you and get healthy.
