Another key point is flexibility. It must consist of food items that you can prepare easily, possibly within minutes or at least less than an hour. If you need to spend two or three hours preparing the meal and another one hour trying to count the amount of calories in the food that you have just prepared, you will give up within two weeks, most people do.

Lastly, you need to know if your plan is reliable. Again, there are no hard and fast rules to this. If you can convince your family and friends to try the plan that you have come up with and they stick with it for a couple of weeks, you might actually have something that works. Also, if your close friends and family members are willing to go on a diet together with you, your chances of succeeding are even higher.
