Low Fat Diet Plans Never Work

Low fat diet plans never work. For years people have been saying that in order to lose fat you need to eat foods that do not contain fat and this is a true statement... to an extent. There are 2 reasons for this.

#1) There is a big difference between foods that are naturally low in fat and "Low Fat" food. I am talking about things like Low Fat Potato Chips or Low Fat Diet Sodas. Low Fat Ice Cream. These foods are not naturally low in fat, but people buy them in droves because they think that eating these foods will help them reduce the amount of fat that is consumed by their bodies.

#2) Another thing to consider is that there are different types of fat and some types of fat are good for you. Actually they are essential to proper function of certain parts of your body like your brain for instance.

The human body is an amazing machine that regulates its self and is NOT designed to be overweight. Given the proper nutrition the body will regulate itself back to a normal healthy weight. A low fat diet plan will not do this for you.

The problem in this society is that it is too easy to eat the same thing over and over again. We don't get the variety that we need in our diets

Its never a good idea to eat only one type of food. That kind of diet is dangerous at best.

Having variety in your diet enables you to consume all of the vitamins and minerals that your body needs to regulate itself normally. No one type of food, or low fat diet can give you everything you need in a natural way.

How many times a week do you eat fast food or how many times a month do you eat the same thing? when is the last time you had a melon or a raw cucumber or carrot. You see it is so much easier for us to just pick up a frozen entree and some french fries or potatoes and call it a day that we miss out on MANY different vitamins and minerals that our bodies need for proper balance.

About a specific example:

Peppers, how many different varieties of peppers have you eaten in the last month. Most people will name the ever popular Green Pepper as one that they have eaten but there are many types of peppers. Pick up a Yellow Pepper, or one of the other types of mild peppers that are available.

How about Greens? May people get in the rut (and I have done this myself) of falling into the rut of eating the same type of greens for example spinach. Its an easy habit to get into because change, even sometimes just buying something different, especially if you have never tried it, can be hard.

You will get so much more value from consuming the vitamins and minerals that occur naturally in a variety of foods than you will from buying your vitamins and minerals processed in a bottle.
