In this stage, it is suggested that you circumvent the food materials that are rich in high-glycemic carbohydrates. These include bread, potatoes, cereals and fruits.
Phase II - During this phase, you can consume fruits and grains along with red wine, if you want.
Phase III - This phase is also known as the maintenance phase. During this phase the person on diet is allowed to eat fruits and grains three times in a day.
Atkins Diet: This diet was started by Dr. Robert Atkins. This diet prohibits the intake of net carbohydrates that increases the level of blood sugar in the body of the receiver. With a decrease in the blood sugar level of the body, the hunger can also be suppressed. This diet plan also includes three phases:
Phase I - This phase is known as the induction phase. It keeps away a person from consuming excess carbohydrates and allows the use of meat, fish, eggs, fowl, cheese and vegetables. During this phase a person can loose as much as 10 pounds of his weight.
Phase II - This phase is termed as the OWL phase or the Ongoing Weight Loss phase. During this phase the person on diet increases the amount of carbohydrates being consumed, but still loosing weight.
Phase III - This phase is referred to as the pre- maintenance phase. During this phase the dieter needs to estimate the amount of carbohydrates he can consume in a day without gaining weight. To maintain the lost weight, this phase includes the intake of unprocessed or whole food.
Best life diet - This diet plan is slightly different from the others. This allows the dieter to change their food habits with the course of time. This diet stresses on replacing the consumption of bread, soft drinks and oily food with fruits, vegetables and whole grains. This is the most popular of all the diet plans as this allows the dieters to change their food habits as per their choice.
