Low Cal Diet Plan - Is it Possible to Lose Weight on a Low Cal Diet?

The average daily calorie intake for women is 2,000 and for men is 2,500. So what would a low cal diet plan look like for you? If you are consuming 3,500 calories per day, then 3,000 calories would be a low cal diet. But the real question is: How many calories do I expend per day? Obviously, if you only expend 2,800 calories per day, then restricting your diet to 3,000 would not work and you would still be putting on weight. More than likely, you are consuming just slightly more calories than you are expending, which is why you put on 10 extra pounds over several years and not over night. The point here is you don't need a low cal diet plan, you just need to burn the calories you take in plus a few more to lose the extra pounds.

But if you reduce your caloric intake too far below what your body requires to perform your daily activities, your body will slow down your metabolism which slows down the rate you burn calories. Your body becomes more efficient and functions on the lower calories. So, you end up restricting your diet, making yourself miserable, and not achieving your goal of losing weight.

But if you control your metabolism and your daily calorie intake then you can achieve weight loss and maintain your desired weight once you achieve it. This can be done with an easy change in the foods you eat as well as avoiding some of the foods that prevent you from achieving your weight loss. Increasing you metabolism through increased activity will also help elevate you metabolism. Think for a moment about your daily activities. Do they involve sitting in a car to go to work? Then sitting all day behind a desk at work? Followed by driving home and sitting in front of the TV all night? I think you get my point; there is plenty of opportunity to increase your daily activity.
